Three-time Emmy Award-winning CBS reporter has covered four Super Bowls and every Men’s Final Four since 2008, including four hosted in Indianapolis.
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Sports Corp announced today that Emmy Award-winning CBS Sports reporter Tracy Wolfson will be recognized with the Inspiring Sports Storyteller Award at its annual State of Sports presented by Indiana University on November 4 at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.
The Inspiring Sports Storyteller Award is given to journalists who share stories that showcase how the power of sports can inspire people to take action and invest in their communities. Previous recipients include Gregg Doyel, Malcolm Moran, Sage Steele, Rowdy Gaines, Anne Marie Tiernon, and Debbie Antonelli.
Wolfson is a nine-time Emmy Award-nominated reporter for CBS Sports and a three-time recipient of the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Sideline Reporter (2024, 2025, 2026). She was named THE NFL ON CBS’s lead game reporter in 2014 and is a member of the lead announce team for THE NFL ON CBS, working the network’s top game each week as well as its Thanksgiving games, AFC Playoffs, and AFC Championship Game.
Wolfson was on the sidelines as lead reporter for Super Bowl LVIII (2024), Super Bowl LV (2021), Super Bowl LIII (2019), and Super Bowl 50 (2016). She also serves as the lead reporter for CBS Sports’ coverage of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship. She has been the lead reporter at the Final Four since 2008, including the last four held in Indianapolis (2010, 2015, 2021, 2026).

In 2022, Wolfson was named one of the Cynopsis Top Women in Media in the Game Changing On-Air Talent category. Wolfson also serves as a panelist on CBS Sports' WE NEED TO TALK, the first-ever nationally televised all-women sports show.
Prior to covering the NFL, Wolfson served for 10 years as the lead college football reporter for CBS Sports’ coverage of the Southeastern Conference, working alongside Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson.
Wolfson has also contributed to CBS Sports’ coverage of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, auto racing, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, gymnastics, track and field, and rodeo.
Wolfson began her on-air broadcasting career in 2000 at WZBN-TV in Trenton, N.J., as a sports anchor, reporter, and producer. She has also worked for Oxygen Sports, Long Island News Tonight, and News 12 Long Island. Wolfson began her professional career at CBS Sports in 1997 as a researcher working on the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, the 1998 Olympic Winter Games, and the 1997 NCAA Final Four.
Wolfson will receive the award during State of Sports presented by Indiana University on Wednesday, November 4, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. The annual event is a community-wide celebration of what sport makes possible, bringing people together to recognize the moments, leaders, and impact that strengthen Indiana through sports.
