INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Sports Corp announced today the OneAmerica Financial Foundation and Eli Lilly and Company as presenting partners of Swim IN Safety, the organization's statewide initiative dedicated to expanding access to water safety education and swim instruction throughout Indiana. The support will help extend the Swim IN Safety grant program over the next two years as Indiana builds toward hosting the 2028 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming.  

Launched in advance of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming as a lasting community legacy initiative, Swim IN Safety was created to address a critical need while ensuring the impact of one of the world's premier sporting events extends far beyond competition.  

Since its launch, Swim IN Safety has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to more than 30 organizations across Indiana. Through those investments, local organizations have taught more than 50,000 Hoosiers how to swim or be safer around water, creating a lasting impact in communities throughout the state.

The commitments of the OneAmerica Financial Foundation and Lilly as presenting partners will help Swim IN Safety continue to serve communities across the state while expanding opportunities to provide swim instruction, water safety education, and drowning prevention resources.

"Learning to swim is one of the most important health and safety skills a person can have, and no child or family should go without it,” said Megan Suttile, associate vice president, media portfolio and partnerships at Lilly. “That’s what makes Swim IN Safety so powerful. At Lilly, we're committed to helping build stronger, healthier communities, and we’re proud to help this work grow as Indiana looks ahead to the return of the U.S. Olympic Swim Team Trials in 2028.”  

Indiana-based organizations are encouraged to apply for Swim IN Safety grant funding to support swim and water safety lessons, water safety education programs, equipment such as goggles, swimsuits, swim caps and lifesaving gear, and lifeguard or CPR certifications.  

Applications are open now through December 2026 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis while funding remains available. Indiana Sports Corp's Community Impact team will review applications every two months, with the first review period taking place in mid-August. Additional review periods will occur in mid-October and December. Once all available grant funds have been awarded, applications will close for 2026.
