The Big Ten Conference, in partnership with Indiana Sports Corp, Officially Human, Indiana High School Athletic Association, and National Federation of State High School Associations will host the second Sports Officials Symposium featuring Gene Steratore at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. This symposium aims to address the shortage of officials in all sports at the grade school and high school levels. Some of the main topics of this event will be recruitment and treatment of officials, earnings potential, and opportunities for career advancement. This event is a great opportunity for anyone interesting in officiating, regardless of experience, and is open to current officials, aspiring officials, and anyone else who is interested in or has connections with youth and high school athletics. “Can we build a city in a bubble?” In March of 2021 the spirit of March Madness radiated across the globe, showcasing the unique capacity of Indianapolis to overcome previously unimaginable barriers and lead with hope, hospitality and optimism.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Indiana Sports Corp, in partnership with Leadership Indianapolis, is hosting a panel discussion and highlighting some of the extraordinary women that answered the call to lead the way from uncertainty to success.

Big Ten Junior Journalism Program and Workshop • Saturday, March 5 • Gainbridge Fieldhouse • 3:30-9 p.m. (ET)
In its fourth year, the Big Ten Conference and Indiana Sports Corp will select 14 students to participate in the Big Ten Junior Journalism Program and Workshop to see what it is really like to be a sports journalist. Once selected, students will be paired with one Big Ten school and be tasked with writing an article featuring the assigned University’s women’s basketball team. Each student will also have the opportunity to attend a journalism workshop on "Semifinal Saturday" at the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament. The Workshop will include a panel discussion with professional media members, a behind-the-scenes tour of Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the Big Ten Network television compound, a Q&A session with BTN broadcasters and producers, a press credential to attend Saturday's semifinal games and the chance to attend the postgame press conferences virtually and ask questions of the participating Big Ten coaches and students.
Girls Basketball Clinic • Sunday, March 6 • Main Court/Practice Court at Gainbridge Fieldhouse • 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (ET) • Registration Required
The Big Ten Conference and Indiana Sports Corp will host a free girls’ basketball clinic on Championship Sunday for 100 students in grades 5-8. The clinic will take place on both the practice court and main court at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and participants will receive a clinic t-shirt, a complimentary ticket to Sunday’s Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament championship game, an opportunity to welcome the two teams as they enter the facility, and a coupon for a free snack and drink at the concession stand.
